Meet Valerie Bumpus of Tennessee
I have been married almost 32 years to my husband, Jim. We have two sons. My oldest, Jimmy, is married to Amy and they have one daughter, Kaylee Grace who will be seven in April, and a baby boy, Bobby, who is due any day. My youngest son, Drew, is married to Chelsea. These are the loves of my life.
I have been a fan of Jim’s for as long as I can remember. I honestly don’t know when I first became a fan.
I had always liked his music, but a bunch of years ago I won tickets to see Jim at the Ryman in Nashville. A girlfriend went with me, and that started my love of his concerts.
I next saw him at Border’s Books in Cool Springs, the Schermerhorn in Nashville, the Franklin Theater, the Tivoli Theater in Chattanooga, the Germantown Performing Arts Center in Germantown and I am going back to the Franklin Theater on the 18th of this month. Does this make me a groupie???
Jim’s music puts me in a happy place. There is no other way to describe it. If I am feeling down, or having a bad day, I crank up one of my CDs on my BOSE and I always feel better.
My husband is not a big fan of any kind of music (I am not sure how we can even be
friends?), but he absolutely loves going to the concerts with me. He enjoys Jim’s interaction with the audience as much as anything. His stories, his sense of humor, everything!
It is nearly impossible for me to pick a “favorite” song. I love them ALL! But I am partial to “Love of My Life.”
I like being a member of the VIP club because I get notifications of upcoming concerts, and of course getting to meet Jim is a BIG PLUS!!
