A NOTE FROM JIM
The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.
– Harriet Ann Jacobs
As much as I love Winter (and you know I do), I love Spring! Despite the recording setting late Winter storms we are experiencing, I’m very optimistic that Spring will eventually arrive and stick around for a while! (That’s me pretending to be the Ground Hog.)
There is something so hopeful about Spring. I like the sight of snow melting and the smell of grass and mud. I love taking a walk and feeling the sun on my face even if there is still a chill in the air.
A few weeks ago, I was walking through my new neighborhood and watching shopkeepers and restaurant owners sweeping the sidewalk and putting out tables and chairs in anticipation of warm days ahead. And I especially appreciate the fact that the days are longer! Don’t you?
Over the years I’ve written a lot of songs inspired by seasons and nature. The Winter-y songs feel warm and embracing. Autumn is thoughtful, while summer melodies are playful.
Then there is Spring. Songs I write for Spring are hopeful and renewing. Songs like New Beginning, Distant Rain and The Promise all sing out optimism and a time to refresh and renew. Take a listen. You’ll see what I mean!
Spring is a great time to let go of the feelings and habits that bogged you down all Winter. I’m confident that soon it will be time to energize and go outdoors. Shed the down jackets, start moving, eat healthy, smile and be a friend.
Happy Spring!

Sally’s Corner
OMG, LOL……everything today is in short tweets, initials, and “try to figure out what I am saying!!!” So here’s to you, whatever your political thoughts or concerns about the rest of the world…..thanks to all the WBF’s, the Wonderful Brickman Fans.
Usually the Sally’s Corner zeros in on my first born son, but today it is a thanks to you, especially those of you who have been Brickman fans long enough to read Sally’s Corner and also attend many, many concerts for a long time, and those who give heart-filled testimonials. Without your support there would be no Romantic Piano Sensation.
I think throughout his entire career James has put you people first. When he first began his touring he would, after each concert, shake hands and offer autographs and photos with anyone who stopped after the concert. On cruises and land events the personal exchanges are for all, and now due to time constraints, after concerts has to be limited to VIP interactions.
James will shorten his travel/sleep time to meet with you individually and share memories no matter how long the lines. And he so enjoys meeting with you! You have baked for him, prepared scrapbooks and posters and given him memorable small tokens of appreciation. You have thanked him for changing your lives in many ways. This is not forgotten by him.(or me) Many of you have shared your kindness and appreciation to me as well and we rarely have the opportunity to say a sincere thank you
So ‘til we meet again at a concert or upcoming Alaska cruise……yours truly and all my best wishes
……SFB.
What’s On Jim’s Ipod
When I was asked if I collaborated on the soundtrack and score of LaLaLand I became very interested in hearing it on my own… not in the theatre.
In particular, “Mia and Sebastian’s Theme” is primarily piano so it does seem to be very a “Jim Brickman-like” song. I especially like “City of Stars” in which Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone both sing. LaLa Land is like an old Hollywood movie set in the 21st century. I loved it… and it was a reminder of why I chose a career as a musician.
Meet Tim
Moon joined the Brickman Team in January 2017 as a Marketing Associate and content creator.
You can find him rummaging through footage and photos spanning Jim Brickman’s entire career. Tim also works behind the scenes, setting up meet and greets before and after concerts.
Native of Dayton Ohio, Tim is an active musician in the Cleveland Music scene. He is vocalist and piano player, but plays bass and guitar as well. An active proponent of the education of the arts, Tim has taught music theory, voice, piano and acting in his years working with aspiring students and professionals alike.
attended The University of Findlay and graduated with a double major in Business Management and Marketing. After touring in his band, he moved to Cleveland Ohio and went back to school for English and Education.
and his wife are happy to be living in Cleveland!
Jim’s Mailbag
Jim:
Just a short note to tell you how much I have enjoyed listening to your music.
Several years ago you performed in High Point, NC. Our daughter purchased tickets for us to attend for our anniversary. We really enjoyed your show, your humor and also the kidding about “biscuits” here in the South.
Sadly, my husband passed away unexpectedly in 2015. We both enjoyed listening to your music. I’m a paralegal and work has been difficult for me, especially since my concentration level is not what it use to be.
So when I go to work, I play your music. It relaxes me, brings back happy memories and sometimes I cry, but that is all part of the grief process.
Thank you again for your humor and your style!!
Sincerely,
Jennifer, NC
