A Note From Jim
The beautiful spring came; and when Nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also.
– Harriet Ann Jacobs
Hi,
Many of our friends are observing the Spring holidays this week, Passover and Easter.
For so many, there’s a deep sense of heritage and faith. It’s a wonderful time to disconnect from the stress of everyday life and the craziness in the world, exhale and look at all the good around us. Celebrating with family and friends connects us to a wider community.
If you noticed, I’ve used this “Spring quote” before. It really expresses how I feel about this season. It’s interesting that these particular holidays of hope and renewal take place during the Spring when we shed the Winter blahs.
I always wondered why eggs are mentioned a lot in Spring. Did you know they represent the circle of life and rebirth? Seeing flowers sprout out of the ground, leaves begin to bud and grass turn green again reminds us of the cycle and that it’s time to refresh our mind and spirit.
I hope you have a beautiful and meaningful holiday!
Happy Spring!

What’s On Jim’s iPod?
I’ve been listening to my iPod with the lights on and the door locked because I’m totally engrossed in a “six-part deep dive” Inside Psycho podcast. From the very beginning the narrator cautions the listener “You’ve. Been. Warned.”
Episode after episode exposes something new and fascinating about the Alfred Hitchcock classic. There’s inside scoop and juicy details about the backstage chatter and how Hitchcock ruled the film set. And the details of “that scene” reveals the best stories.
Spoiler Alert!
As the shower dripped, costume designers adjusted Janet Leigh’s flesh-colored bodysuit while a dancer acted as her double. Alfred Hitchcock was actually the hand brandishing the knife.
Just like the movie, it’s intriguing and disturbing to listen to Inside Psycho. And that’s why I keep the lights on!
Jim’s Mail Bag
My name is Jessie. I am 31 years old and I started listening to your music when I was 15. I have dealt with debilitating anxiety my entire life. There were so many nights I couldn’t fall asleep and my life was full of “what ifs” and worry.
One day, I discovered your music, and everything changed for me. As soon as your music started playing, my worries went away. I was able to relax, focus, and let go of every “what if” that entered my thoughts. Every night before I went to bed, I turned on your music and it was the only way I could fall asleep without some sort of pill. Shortly after discovering your music, I was able to stop taking my anxiety medication for good.
Your music has inspired me and I have chased after dreams I never thought would come true for me. I have always loved 2 things: piano and aviation…about 3 1/2 years ago, I finally got my dream job as a flight attendant. Before I went to the interview, I listened to your music, and it kept me calm and focused for the interview.
When I started working as a flight attendant, I met a great friend, Leigh. She and her husband are both pilots for the airline. They had a little get together with our co-workers. When I arrived at their home, the first thing I noticed was her piano/keyboard. Then I saw your music book next to it. I saw your picture on the cover and looked at Leigh. I asked her which one of them plays piano, and which one of them can play Jim Brickman. She smiled and said, “Me. I have loved his music for years.”
She proceeded to play “Angel Eyes” on her keyboard and since that day, I promised myself that I would take her to one of your concerts someday.
I know my story may sound like thousands of stories you have heard before, but I am so proud to share it. Your music has given me a different outlook on life and truthfully, I think it was the one thing that saved me from going down a dark path when I was younger. You are an angel sent from Our Father above.
From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
Jessie

I’ll bet “Inside Psycho” is cool! I’ve never been a fan of scary flicks, but I love back stories! I read once that Alfred Hitchcock wasn’t happy with the way the “blood” ran down the shower drain too quickly, so he substituted chocolate syrup because it had a better consistency. 🙂 Man! I would LOVE to work in the film industry!!! Maybe snother degree and a move to Atlanta will be in my future! 🙂
Thanks for sharing your interests with us! I like learning about people! 🙂
Peace! ♡
