Move It!
I don’t have to tell you that exercise is good for you. Not only is moving good for your body, but it’s good for your mind. There are a gazillion ways to exercise so, find something you like to do.
No Pressure
A few on my friends love yoga and and can’t seem to go through life without a downward dog. They pressured me to try it. I signed up for a 90 minute hot yoga class and freaked out. Just the thought of going was causing me more anxiety than I needed. I finally said “No, never ever. It’s just not me.”
Exercise On Your Own Terms
I could have given in to peer pressure but that’s not exactly a great way for me to relax. That brought up an interesting topic for me: Can’t I exercise on my own terms and not do what other people tell me to do?
Be Happy
So, here’s my big idea. Find a way to get moving that doesn’t stress you out. Do it alone, with a friend or in a group. Just make sure it’s something you’ll be happy to keep doing.
Release Those Endorphins
If you need more motivation, think about how good you’ll feel when the endorphins kick in. Those are the chemicals that our body naturally releases when we exercise. Endorphins diminish pain, produce a state of calm and just make you feel good.
