June Newsletter
A Note From Jim
“June is bustin’ out all over!
All over the meadow and the hill!
Buds’re bustin’ outa bushes
And the rompin’ river pushes
Ev’ry little wheel that wheels beside the mill! “
– Oscar Hammerstein
I just love that song from the Rogers and Hammerstein classic Carousel. The music and the lyrics really express how we all feel this time of year. It’s about coming alive again, and falling in love.
Wedding music also expresses how we feel this time of year. I guess that’s why there are so many June brides walking down the aisle.
You know, I get asked to play at weddings all the time. I’m such a romantic at heart so; I decided it was time to create a CD of wedding music. That way I can “be there” to welcome your guests, accompany you down the aisle and even take to the dance floor for your first dance.
I want to thank everyone who played my music at their weddings. So many of you sent pictures and stories about your big day. We’ve complied them in a music video that I hope you enjoy watching.
I love hearing how my music has added something to your life. You can always write to me at friends@jimbrickman.com.

What’s Jim’s Streaming?
If you know anything about me, you know of my absolute love for Carole King’s songs. She was and still is a big influence on my songwriting.
I was thrilled with the re-mastered and re-issued CD of Tapestry. You may remember that the original was released in 1971. This music is truly timeless. The quality and authenticity of the re-mastered tracks make me feel like I’m sitting in the recording studio as she sings hit after hit. Oh yeah, the bonus tracks are amazing too!
Jim’s Mail Bag
My wife Gwen and I were married on August 26, 2000. Our most special song is Love of My Life. We danced our first dance at our wedding to it with Michael W. Smith as the vocal.
The dance was memorable, however for a different reason. As the song began with everyone watching us, the CD began to skip. The DJ quickly trying to correct it but to no avail. We continued hugging and smiling anyway! If we could do it all over again yes we would rather have a complete song but now we laugh at it as a special memory.
The song means so much to us that my wife years later tried to play it on piano at our home, (as a surprise to me on our anniversary) using those rusty skills she learned as a child playing piano. She made it through most of it before we just decided to dance to silence in the living room. (This was before children!)
We briefly met Mr. Brickman at a book signing in Oak Park, IL and it was a thrill to meet the man behind such beautiful music.
Thank you for “our” song, and God Bless.
