Meet Cathy and Wayne Gangloff of Florida
Tell us about yourselves
We have followed Jim, his music and career since 1996 when our daughter gifted us with tickets for a concert in Pittsburgh. Since that time we have seen Jim in many cities, including Pittsburgh, Savannah, Clearwater, Orlando, and even in Walt Disney World.
Have you ever been on a cruise or Bash?
We have also been on two cruises and one Bash and met many friends who have become very dear to us. The cruises and Bashs are so much fun that we are booked for the 2017 Alaska Cruise. I can remember our emotions on that first cruise. When Jim entered the stage for the first concert, our tears began to flow. Before the evening was over, Jim performed our favorite song, Valentine. At those events, Jim, his staff, performers and even his parents spent time with each and every attendee. We came home feeling that Jim and staff were now our “friends.”
Special Moments?
One very special moment for us was when we took our 5 year old grandson, Garrett, to his first Jim Brickman concert. Garrett was, and still is, a big fan. It was a Valentine concert in Orlando. Garrett had crafted a valentine for Jim and after the concert he personally handed it to Jim. We were impressed with how Jim treated Garrett with such respect and dignity. Garrett is a fan for life.
How have you shared Jim’s music?
Our favorite way to share Jim’s music is with new parents. We love to gift the Piano Lullabies CD. We also like to send friends and family CDs or YouTube videos of particular albums or songs when we know the music and lyrics will speak a word to them that they might need to hear for encouragement or comfort.
Best thing about being a Brickhead?
We hear all the “news” firsthand, such as concert dates and have a chance to purchase tickets before they go on sale to the general public.
Anything else you’d like to add?
Through the years, Jim’s music has accompanied us through so many good times and bad times. Most recently, Jim’s music was used for our granddaughter’s wedding march. We are proud and happy to say that we are lifetime fans.
